Locally Made Farmer's Market

Pancakes with Santa was a hit at the Locally Made Farmers Market

Last Updated 12/15/2025

What a joyful start to the day at the Locally Made Farmers Market. Pancakes with Santa was full of laughter, smiles, and Christmas cheer from start to finish.

The market had a great turnout with around 40–50 people, and the food was absolutely delicious. It was the perfect morning to get families out, spend time together, and enjoy some simple Christmas fun.

The amazing market vendors cooked and served a delicious breakfast while kids enjoyed coloring craft packets and took part in a Do Good Challenge, encouraging simple acts of kindness this Christmas season. Watching the kids light up made it all worth it.

A huge thank you to UNITE and Lee County ASAP for sponsoring this event. Because of your support, kids 12 and under ate FREE, and you continue to make a positive impact by helping our kids and community choose healthy, positive paths.

Thank you to Santa and Mrs. Claus for stopping by and sharing the joy, and to everyone who came out to support local and spend the morning with us. Events like this are a reminder of how special our community truly is.

🌿 About the Locally Made Farmers Market 🌿

The Locally Made Farmers Market is open year-round, with a short break in January, and is much more than a place to shop. The market supports 10 regular vendors and offers space for pop-up booths, allowing new vendors to try the market and grow at their own pace.

Market vendors offer a wide variety of products including fresh produce, jams and jellies, popcorn, baked goods, embroidery, sewn items, jewelry, 3D-printed items, homemade dog treats, and more. The market also hosts fundraisers to help offset the cost of keeping a downtown building open and accessible to the community.

The market serves as a distribution center for WIC, Kentucky Double Dollars, and the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program, helping increase access to fresh, local foods. It has also become a trusted community information hub, with organizations such as the Lee County Health Department, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, LiKEN Knowledge, and others meeting one-on-one with residents and sharing resources.

Beyond the storefront, the Locally Made Farmers Market provides catering services for conferences and meetings across the community. This includes the Kentucky River Water Trail Conference with LiKEN Knowledge and, most recently, the PRTC live announcement luncheon at Happy Top Community Center.

The market is managed jointly by the Beattyville Main Street Director and the Lee County Tourism Director, with strong support from both organizations. It operates out of a downtown building that sat vacant after the historic 2021 flood, now fully reactivated and contributing to Main Street.

This is a farmers market that pays rent, utilities, and internet, supports local entrepreneurs, creates opportunity, and actively strengthens the local economy. It’s a working example of how local investment builds a stronger community.
